If you want to visit the cutest place in central Florida, visit the city of Winter Park. There is so much to do. You can shop, eat, experience fun activities, take Instagram pics, and did I mention the food? Now, I know that most people think of Disney-world or Universal when they think of Orlando. But there is a charming town about 45 minutes away from all the touristy things. When I travel, I prefer to do less touristy things. If you are like me, then you will love Winter Park. It is the perfect little town for everyone in the family. There are so many parks and museums and plenty of restaurants and shops for you to fill up your day.
Places to stay: Hands down the best hotel is Alfond Inn. This hotel is so beautiful and the service is amazing. It is within walking distance to Park Ave which is the main shopping strip in Winter Park. I would recommend it for everyone.
Places to eat:
Bosphorous: OMG, you are talking about the best Turkish food. it is amazing. The portion size is huge. It is a restaurant where you can share the meals. When you eat, save room for the dessert. They have the best pistachio gelato that seriously melts in your mouth. It’s amazing.
PePe’s Cantina: If you love Mexican food, PePe’s is the place to be. First off, get the table side guacamole. It is probably the best guacamole I have ever had. They make it right in front of you which is a fun experience. You can’t go wrong with whatever you get from the restaurant. When you have a chance, go to the outside bar behind the restaurant.
Glass Knife: This is one of the cutest restaurants and it’s my favorite cafe. The decor is beautiful and totally Instagram worthy. They have the best macrons and pastries. If you go for anything else, get a pastry even though the food is amazing. It’s the perfect scene for brunch and cute insta pics.
Choulala: First, I want to say that when you hear the name, you might think, “I’m good, sounds horrible.’’ But let me tell you, they are these small delicious French pastries. You can get them in the center of Winter Park. It’s worth it, they are délicieux.
Things to do:
The Wine Room: This is for everyone that is 21 and over. This place is seriously amazing for all the wine lovers in the world. You enter the Wine Room and you get a card where you can add money and you use it to get a variety of different wines and appetizers. Plus, they have a vault downstairs that is amazing. They have plenty of wines for you to try and you will certainly find something you love.
The Charles Hosmer Morse Museum of American Art: This museum is so beautiful. We got lucky and went on a day that is was free. It has the biggest Tiffany glass collection in the world and it is seriously so gorgeous. It was amazing because we basically had the place to ourselves.
Winter Park Scenic Tour: This is fun if you like to be on the water and enjoy possibly seeing wildlife. I personally enjoyed it because it gives you a unique opportunity to see Winter Park and all it has to offer along with its amazing homes.
These are places that are honorable mention :
Food: Ethos (Vegan), Ravenous Pig. Black Bean Deli
Places: Rollins College, Writer’s Block Bookstore
Ancient Olive – where you can shop for olive oil and other unique foods and jams. Highly recommended, plus its in the cutesiest courtyard ever.
