First, I want to start this off by letting you guys know I am not a dietitian or nutritionist. I am sharing my journey with you on things I started to include in my everyday guide to become healthy. I have to say, I am not a big fan of grapefruit. When I was younger, my mom would try to trick me into consuming it however she could. But it has such a distinguished, sour, bitter taste that it was hard to hide. As we get older, our taste buds change and our tastes evolve. I am glad to say I still don’t like grapefruit. Grapefruit is something that you either love or you like it only when its mixed with something else. Throughout my journey to a healthier me, I started finding new ways to introduce grapefruit.
After adding grapefruit to my weekly routine, I noticed my skin is smoother and more clear. I never had much problems with my skin other than the usual monthly pop-up. Along with getting better skin, I also noticed that I do not get sick as often as I used to. I normally get sick three times throughout the year and I have not been sick once this year, woohoo! There are other benefits to grapefruits but nothing that I can say for sure has affected me.
I added grapefruit in different ways. I love to add grapefruit into my infused water, it gives it a sour and bitter taste but I add things like mint, basil, and fruits that counteract the taste. If I do not add some into my water, I add a slice into my smoothie. I much prefer it in my smoothie because I can not taste it as much. I understand that grapefruit is an acquired taste, I encourage you to try it. Let me know of new fruits you have tried and the benefits you have experienced.
